Claire Elise Boucher (/bu:'SeI/ boo-SHAY, born on 17 March, 1988), known professionally as Grimes is a Canadian singer, musician, writer, and record producer. There are many styles of her earlier music is described as "lo the fi R&B" and "futuristic dance-pop". In addition, she has included elements of hip-hop, electronic and rock. Her songs often incorporate science-fiction and feminist themes throughout her lyrics. Five studio albums were made available by the group. Born and raised in Vancouver (later moving into Montreal), Grimes began making music for herself during the latter half of 2000 she released two albums: Geidi Primes and Halfaxa In 2010, she released her first album with Arbutus Records. The album was released in 2012 and Visions was her third studio album. She signed with 4AD. Visions comprises the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" and won the Canadian industry's Juno Award for Electronic Album of the year. Her fourth studio album Art Angels was released in 2015. It received high praise by critics and a variety of magazines voted it to be the top album. 6. Her fifth album, Miss Anthropocene, was out in 2020. Grimes is an official judge of Alter Ego, a music contest. She participated in the role-playing game in the Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
