She is most famous for her character Ashley Banks on the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. At the age four, she began singing and gained an opportunity to be famous when she begged her mother attend an audition for Sesame Street. In 1985, as a six-year-old, she began an acting career as a regular on the PBS children's educational program Sesame Street. She appeared in a variety of Broadway productions in New York City, including Fences (with James Earl Jones, later Billy Dee Williams) and Orfeo del Campo (off-Broadway). When she was seven, she won Star Search. She received an overall score of 4 stars when she performed for the second time.
